iMore: Avoid MacKeeper

»I’d posit that if your affiliate marketing strategy is attracting lying douchebags and scum, then you’re the problem as much as they are.«

I hate these ads and therefor the software. I assume there’s a large enough group of switchers from Windows, who learned to be afraid (and probably rightly so), so the first things they install on a new Mac are anti virus scanners and crap like MacKeeper.

From Alfred back to LaunchBar

Aleh Cherp from Macademic explains why he switched back from Alfred to LaunchBar. I had the exact same three reasons. Especially instant send and selecting music are too annoying/slow with Alfred if you’re used to LaunchBar’s speed.

I’m still tempted to try Alfred nearly every day, because the workflow community seems more active. Maybe I find a way to use both side by side without interference.

But … first I need Mavericks on my work machine.
